Where to Get STD/HIV Tested in Seoul

Where to Get STD Tested in Seoul

Private Clinics

For STD testing in Korea, men usually go to private urology clinics (비뇨기과) and women go to the OBGYN (산부인과) clinics. All urologists and OBGYNs receive testing kits for STD/HIV testing. STD testing can be done with or without Korean national insurance. If you don’t want your test results to stay on the Korean national health database, you can choose not to use the insurance even if you have it, but the price may be almost three times higher. Most private clinics offer fast, confidential, professional and safe testing. Screening cost varies from 40,000 won to 200,000 depends on the packages you choose. Results take about 1-2 days and an appointment is not necessary for STD/HIV testing.

Public Health Centers

Public health centers offer free or low cost testing for HIV, Herpes, Syphilis, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia and more.Testing is available at many locations around Seoul area. There are 25 Public Health Centers in each district. Please call each individual public health center for further information. Photo identification is required at the time of the visit.
